• Crow's feet and forehead lines: May show slightly earlier return of movement, often around 5–6 months
• Faster metabolizers: Some patients who metabolize neuromodulators quickly (they might have a genetic tendency) see results fade closer to 4.5–5 months
• Slower metabolizers: Others report effective treatment lasting 6.5–7 months or more

The variability is normal and is actually the same range you'd see with other neuromodulators. If you're someone whose Botox started wearing off at 4 months, you're likely to see similar timing with Daxxify.

Is the Onset Different from Botox?

Yes, and in the direction most patients want: Daxxify tends to kick in a little faster.

In the clinical trials, the median time to onset was about two days, and a majority of patients had a visible response by day 2. Botox is more typically a day 3 to day 5 story. That matches what we see in the office: patients switching from Botox often mention they noticed something starting sooner than they expected.

The full effect still takes a week or two to settle in for either product, so don't judge your result on day 3. But if you have an event coming up and you're cutting it close, the faster onset is a real advantage. And the longer duration is still the headline.

Can I Switch Back and Forth Between Botox and Daxxify?

Yes, absolutely. It's safe to do so.

Both are botulinum toxin products with slightly different formulations, but your body doesn't develop resistance or complications from switching. Many patients do exactly this: they might use Botox for a few rounds, then try Daxxify for the extended duration, and come back to Botox if they prefer. Some patients alternate because they're trying to find which gives them the best personal results.

The only real consideration is timing. Make sure you're not overlapping treatments and that adequate time has passed since your last injection before moving to a new product. We always verify this at your consultation.

Does It Feel Different?

Most patients report it feels the same.

The patient experience during administration is virtually identical to Botox: the same tiny needle, the same minimal discomfort (or no discomfort at all), the same ice pack during if desired. The results (that natural softening of expression lines without freezing your face) also feel the same to patients.

The key difference patients do notice is the convenience of fewer appointments per year. If you're the type who hated that "I need to book again" call at the 3.5-month mark, Daxxify alleviates that.

Does Daxxify Cost More Than Botox?

Because Daxxify lasts longer for most patients, you typically need fewer appointments per year. Here's the math:

• If you're a standard metabolizer getting Botox every 4 months: That's 3 treatments per year
• If you're a standard metabolizer getting Daxxify every 6 months: That's 2 treatments per year
• With similar per-session pricing, one fewer treatment per year can mean a meaningfully lower annual total

For faster metabolizers (those who need touch-ups every 3–3.5 months), the annual savings can be even more significant. The main scenario where the savings shrink is if you're already a slow metabolizer with Botox lasting 5.5–6 months for you. In that case, you're not reducing appointment frequency much.

Who's the Ideal Daxxify Patient?

Daxxify is perfect for:

• Busy professionals who don't want to book treatments every 3–4 months
• Patients with faster metabolism who've had Botox wear off too quickly
• Anyone looking to optimize their annual dermatology budget (fewer sessions per year can mean a lower annual total)

• Patients prioritizing convenience who want fewer appointments to schedule and remember

Daxxify lives up to its promise of extended duration. It's not a miracle product that outperforms Botox in every way, but for the right patient (especially someone tired of frequent touch-ups), it's a game-changer. The real-world data we're seeing matches the clinical data, and patient satisfaction remains high.
